How to Cook Steak

minutesEvery home chef should know how to cook a great steak, and Gordon Ramsay’s video shows how simple it is! This is a great recipe for a weeknight meal or to impress your guests.
Ingredients
2 steaks, your choice of cut
salt and pepper, to taste
high smoke point oil to coat the pan
2 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
fresh thyme, to taste
1 knob butter
Notes
- Be sure to take the steaks out of the fridge at least 20 minutes before you start cooking, or else they will be cold in the center and overcooked on the outside.
- Make sure your pan is nice and hot – you want the steaks to sear.
- Turn the steaks every minute so they cook evenly.
- As with any meat, let it rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting into it so the juices can redistribute.
