How to boil an egg
Cooking perfect boiled eggs isn’t overly complex, but you want to get it right. Jamie Oliver’s instructions will help you nail it every time, whether you like them soft, medium, or hard-boiled.
Notes
- Add salt to the water – this will help prevent the egg from leaking into the water
- Room temperature eggs should be dipped in and out of boiling water on a spoon 2-3 times before carefully placing them in the water.
- Soft Boiled: 5.5 minutes Semi-Soft Boiled: 7.5 minutes Hard-boiled: 11-12 minutes
